One team, the whole project

Not a contractor to manage. A service that manages it for you.

Most accessible renovations stall because families are left coordinating separate trades, permits, and grant paperwork on their own. Still at Home handles all of it. We assess the home, design the changes, confirm which funding programs apply, and coordinate the licensed, insured trades who do the work. You have one point of contact throughout, and the result is built to recognized industry standards.

What we make accessible

Every room, adapted to how you live.

Barrier-Free Bathrooms

Tub-to-shower conversions, zero-threshold walk-in showers, anchored grab bars, comfort-height toilets, and non-slip flooring. The room where most falls happen, made safe.

Ramps and Entrances

Wheelchair ramps, zero-step entries, widened doorways, and easier door hardware so getting in and out of the home stays safe in every season.

Doorway and Hallway Widening

Structural modifications that open the home up for a walker or wheelchair, with thresholds removed and pathways cleared throughout.

Stair Lifts and Main-Floor Living

Stair lifts where stairs remain, or a plan to bring a bedroom and full bathroom to the main floor when stairs no longer work.

Accessible Kitchens

Reachable storage, lever taps, multi-height work surfaces, and accessible appliance layouts that keep daily routines independent.

Complete Accessibility Remodels

Whole-home transformations coordinated end to end: design, permits, trades, and inspections under one point of contact.

Planned by specialists

CAPS-certified, and built to work with your OT.

Every project starts with a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) who reviews the home room by room and delivers a prioritized written plan. When an occupational therapist is involved, we build the renovation around their recommendations and provide the documentation that programs like the Home and Vehicle Modification Program and the Assistive Devices Program require.

The result is a home that fits the person who lives in it, today and as needs change. Healthcare professionals can refer a client here.

Funding, navigated for you

Up to $48,000 in grants and tax credits.

Accessible renovations qualify for more government support than most families realize. We review every program against your situation and handle the applications as part of the service.

When you welcome a team into a parent's home, accountability matters. Still at Home is a member of the Greater Ottawa Home Builders' Association and the Canadian Home Builders' Association, so your accessible renovations are delivered to recognized industry standards.

Frequently asked questions

What are accessible home renovations?+
Accessible home renovations adapt a home so an aging or mobility-limited resident can live in it safely and independently. Common projects include barrier-free bathrooms and tub-to-shower conversions, wheelchair ramps, doorway widening, stair lifts, and accessible kitchens. Still at Home plans and manages the entire project in Ottawa.
Are you a contractor, or a managed service?+
Still at Home is a managed service. We plan your accessible renovation, navigate the grants, and coordinate the licensed, insured trades who carry out the work, so you have one point of contact from assessment through final inspection rather than juggling separate trades yourself.
How much do accessible renovations cost in Ottawa?+
Cost depends on the rooms and the scope, but government grants and tax credits commonly cover a meaningful share. A qualifying Ottawa household can access up to roughly $48,000 across stacked programs. Our free assessment gives you a written estimate and your specific grant eligibility.
What grants help pay for accessible renovations?+
Programs include the Home Accessibility Tax Credit, the Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Ontario Renovates, the Multigenerational Home Renovation Tax Credit, and the Assistive Devices Program. We review every program against your situation and handle the applications as part of the managed service.
Do you handle permits and trades?+
Yes. Permits, structural work, vetted trades, grant paperwork, and day-to-day coordination are all part of the service. You are not left to manage separate contractors or chase paperwork.
What is a CAPS assessment?+
CAPS stands for Certified Aging in Place Specialist. A CAPS-certified assessor visits the home for a room-by-room review and delivers a prioritized written plan with recommendations, cost estimates, and grant eligibility. The assessment is free and carries no obligation.
